Laurie Brown

Laurie Brown's Difficult People training helps participants better deal with difficult people in a business environment. The program covers topics ranging from managing difficult clients to interacting with difficult colleagues and bosses. It teaches participants effective communication and engagement strategies that lead to improved customer and employee relations and better business performance in the long run.

As an interviewer on CBC's On the Arts, Laurie Brown hears from all kinds of people. Her audience includes people with chronic pain, those in rehab, and those with newborns. She feels a responsibility to them and shows up every night to do her work.

After she started to hold her public officials accountable, Brown saw an improvement in their behavior. When corporate hog farms began to move into the panhandle of Texas and Oklahoma, many public officials were giving them tax incentives. After Brown and others at the Record uncovered this, many county commissioners signed a resolution not to give any tax incentives to these corporate hog farms again.

The author of Difficult People Training has many years of experience in the field. She has helped thousands of people manage their behavior. Her techniques have been proven to be effective in a variety of different situations. In her book, she provides a step-by-step method to help leaders deal with difficult people. She emphasizes the importance of being aware of what triggers difficult behavior.

Laurie Santos' course was so popular at Yale University that it became one of the most popular courses at Yale University in the last 300 years. In just one year, nearly one in four Yale students enrolled in her course. In addition to her success in educating students, her program has also been featured on the New York Times, NBC Nightly News, and The Today Show. Its podcast has received over 50 million downloads.

James

The five chapters of James' letter are essentially extended pastoral sermons, interlaced with wisdom and warnings. James' goal is to help his readers grow spiritually and bring them closer to Christ. Rather than preaching straight to the ear, he offers a series of supplementary exercises that allow readers to reach their full potential.

James' first philosophical book, On Pure Reason, was published in 1897, and was dedicated to Charles Sanders Peirce. In the same year, James received a visiting professorship at Stanford University. Unfortunately, the great San Francisco earthquake interrupted his lectures. Later, James took a leave of absence from Harvard and turned to philosophy. He was a member of the Metaphysical Club, which included Oliver Wendell Holmes, the first U.S. Supreme Court Justice. He also studied the accounts of religious experience and wrote the Gifford Lectures, which were delivered in Edinburgh in 1907.
